About Julia

My life and perspective shifted the day I picked up a copy of a Calgary publication called Birthing Magazine. Until that moment I had only heard the horror stories. It was such a relief to see beautiful images of birthing women and to uncover my potential as a ‘whole’ Mother one day. Now affectionately known as Julia Doulia, I play a supporting role in the lives of women and their families. My Doula path evolved quickly and came at a very intuitive level – the first time I attended a birth it felt so right to be there. I developed skills and knowledge at workshops, with a personal focus on women’s long-term health and well being.

I am so thankful to be part of a loving community of Doulas advocating for choices in childbirth and to work with pregnant women who are focused on creating a gentle and loving entry into the world for their little ones. For decades Midwives, Doctors, Nurses and Doulas have worked alongside women and their families advocating for positive changes in women’s healthcare. I’m a very fortunate to work at a time when the Doula role is embraced and sought out.

I share the joys of parenting my son Roche and daughter Tenaya with Dustin. Typically our home is a hub of activity and on any given day is visited by mothers, fathers and their new babies.

While being a Doula is my passion I also coordinate special events and do various contracts for NGO’s, volunteer as a core member of the Bow Valley Doula Collective and LaLunaLove (www.lalunalove.com), and own and operate Lynx Computer Services (www.lynxcomputers.ca) with my spouse Dustin. Camera work and editing for film are my newest adventure.

Please call to find out if we might be the right fit.

Take Care,

Julia Lynx
